We have been getting a lot of inquiries from commercial clients recently who need help making their restaurants and bars more welcoming and warm, with sound properly disseminated throughout to create an overall more appealing atmosphere. We’re really proud of how these two custom designed acoustic treatment projects turned out for the long-beloved Post 25 Kitchen & Lounge located in South Asheville at 2155 Hendersonville Rd, and one of Asheville’s newest downtown restaurants causing all kinds of stir, Asheville Proper, located at 1 Page Ave Suite 151.

Post 25 wrapped up first, and their design was inspired by their love of legos–they have a display case with some impressive lego creations including some Star Wars figures. After our initial meeting on-site to take measurements and discuss design, we sent them some photos for inspiration that fit well with their lego touches. They picked their favorite, selected a palette of fabric colors that complemented their decor as well as the existing acoustic treatments they had on site.  We mocked up their final design with a few shape and color options until they were pleased with a design that work both aesthetically and functionally. The install took a full day, and we came in on a Sunday so as not to disrupt their dining service. They were thrilled with the final result and the sound quality went from a 2 to 10.

We also got the chance to help Asheville Proper, making sure that the colors and design flowed with their lovely aesthetic. With a large wall full of windows and hard surfaces all around, the challenge was to bring down the echo and vibrating ambient noise while preserving a lively atmosphere. They have a specific look, with mouth-watering aged meats curing everywhere and a modern atmosphere, but the simple look of black and white worked best with their existing aesthetic. It was a combination of design and blending in to accomplish this, drawing the eye when neccesary and hiding in plain sight as the design needed. The result seamlessly flows with their look and greatly improved their sound quality. Win win!
