A MEDIA ROOM OR HOME THEATER IS THE NEW DIGITAL HEARTH AROUND WHICH MANY FAMILIES GATHER.
Whether it’s used for a movie night, a sporting event, or even Zoom meetings and remote classes, the media room is a valuable entertainment and information hub the whole family can enjoy.
Now that the COVID Pandemic is driving people out of large metropolitan areas and into regions like Western North Carolina, Asheville and surrounding cities like Hendersonville NC, Marshall NC, Tryon NC and even Johnson City TN are experiencing construction booms. Luckily, designing a home theater or media room into a new home is the easiest way to get the best experience for your family, and the professionals at HarmonyAVL+media are ready to help.
HOW CAN I INCORPORATE A HOME THEATER INTO MY ASHEVILLE NEW HOME CONSTRUCTION PROJECT?
Technology changes faster every day. Instead of hoping that your builder, architect or interior designer also happens to be up on the latest media technology trends, it’s best to consult Harmony AVL’s system designers early in planning phase. You don’t want speaker cables all over the floor of your new home and hiding them in walls is a lot easier before the drywall goes up. Tight construction schedules can make this a challenge, so call or email us early!
IS IT TOO LATE TO ADD A MEDIA ROOM INTO THE NEW HOME I’M BUILDING?
The short (and happy) answer is “It’s never too late.” Planning early though greatly increases your design options and reduces the cost! Harmony AVL does a lot of home theater work in existing homes. Wire can be run in finished walls, but it is much more labor intensive and can result in drywall holes to patch and other similar messes.
Pre-wiring your new home is the first step and should ideally take place after the electrician is finished with their wiring (we want to avoid their wiring to minimize electrical noise) but before any insulation or drywall goes up. There is a significant initial design and quoting process needed to get to that point so it’s important to start initial discussions with HarmonyAVL+media at least two months before “drywall.”
