We accomplish that by installing abundant wired connections. If you rely on Wifi for your internet connectivity, your Wifi router’s bandwidth can become a bigger bottleneck than your internet service provider’s available speed.

Nowadays, almost every entertainment device in your home wants a connection to the internet. This includes, cell phones, TVs and gaming systems. While connecting these devices wirelessly is feasible, it can really eat up your bandwidth, slowing your perceived internet speeds to a crawl.

We recommend running as much network wiring as possible to ensure you are getting the most from your internet service provider. We can say with confidence, we won’t be using the internet less in the future, particularly as more and more people work from home.

We view wireless networks as a viable backup technology when a wired connection is inconvenient. Handheld and laptop devices obviously should be wireless (in most but not all cases) but anything fixed in place like a desktop computer, quality audio system, television or media room setup should be wired.

Will you be using applications like Zoom and Skype more in the future? You want those connections to be solid.

When we are able to participate in the design process of your project, making network connectivity amply available becomes our responsibility. We like to put network wires just about everywhere. We’ll often suggest running additional wires for future expansion. It’s a lot easier to do before the drywall goes up!
